- peter spooner Added December 01, 2017★ ★ ★ ★ ★What a surprise Severn Brae Estate turned out to be. Called in to try some cheese and perhaps have some coffee. We certainly got this and a lot more. We did not realise it was also a winery and a historic building filled with bric-a-brac. The owner Bruce made us feel very welcome providing generous samples of both cheese and wine accompanied by a nonstop commentary on the building, the wines, his cheeses, and Stanthorpe. We appreciated the stories, the ambiance and the country hospitality. Not everyone will approve of the disordered appearance of the cellar door but very few will have qualms about the cheese and wine, not to mention the hot sauce or the enthusiastic host.
